Gatekeeper Guides (formerly Keys) are wipe-clean A3 laminated and folded sheets for identifying British wildlife, both animals and plants.
These are double sided with a different set of keys on each side.
The Guides provide easy identification using key questions that are easy to follow and clear illustrations which are
attractive to study. Robust, easy to handle and a perfect wildlife reference for schools and nature lovers of all ages.
There are eleven identification guides available, Freshwater Invertebrates, Wild Flowers Of Grassland,
Land Invertebrates, Trees and Shrubs, Dispersal Of Fruits and Seeds,
Common Butterflies, Common Grasses, Flowers of the hedgerow,
Common Birds, Common Fungi and Flowers of Chalk Grassland.

Identification starts by number of petals. This side identifies flowers with Six or more petals and Irregular petals.
The reverse side shows flowers with Up to Four petals and Five petals.
Guide to Common Butterflies
A double sided key for identifying common UK Butterflies.
Identification is by wing colours. This side identifies butterflies with combinations of red, black, white, orange,
copper, yellow or white; the other covers combinations of brown, orange, grey, blue, red or black.
Guide to Common Grasses
A double sided key for identifying common UK grasses. Identification is by the shape of the flower head, spikelet and ligule.
Diagrams explain all of these features. This side identifies grasses with a flower head which is
Spreading and delicate, Chunky, Cylinder-shaped and Bunched. The other side describes flower heads which are
long and zig-zag shaped, long and one-sided and with bristles.

This side shows use of the key to identify trees and shrubs with variations on an oval leaf shape.
