The toolbar provides a small set of controls in a convenient form. Functions of some of these duplicate those available from the menu or on forms. Not all options are appropriate to all parts of the program and some may be unavailable or 'greyed out'. The controls are the buttons in the lower half of this picture. They are described below from left to right.
Brings up a Help Box. This provides help on how to use the form you currently have on top.
Brings up an Information Page. This provides additional information on the subject material covered in the form you currently have on top.
Allows you to print all or part of the form currently on top. This has the same function as Print... from the Data Menu.
If you have more than one related form or page, these buttons take you backwards or forwards between them. The forward button will be disabled on the last page and the back button on the first. These option are only available if you have one of these on top:
Closes the top form.
Opens the Database Selection Form. You may open a different database from here, any one of Wild flowers, Trees and shrubs or Grasses.
Opens or goes back to the first Identification Form. You may change identification criteria from here. This button will be disabled unless a database has been opened.
Opens or goes back to the Thumbnail Browser. You may view the complete database from here. This button will be disabled unless a database has been opened.
Opens the index page for accessing Information Pages if not already open. This has the same function as Information from the Data Menu. The index page is also available from any information page using the backward pointing finger each contains at top left. At the bottom of the index you will also find access to some Excel spreadsheets and printable worksheets for class use.
Opens the Interactive Exercises Index Page if not already open. This has the same function as Interactive exercises from the Data Menu.
Shows or hides the Help Assistant.
The title bar shows the title of the form or of the database selected or a specific species depending on the form you have open. If the text is shown in a recessed box as here, a click on it will open an Information Page that gives you general information on the current database.
