Name Browser

This is a small dialog that allows any instance in the database to be selected by its common English name. The order that the species are presented is as follows:

1. When the program is first started, they are in alphabetical order of common English name.



2. After a match they are in decreasing order of closeness to your selected criteria, for example, if you open the grasses database and click on only the "straight bristles" legs button, all species with straight bristles will be listed first.



3. After you have used 'group by criteria' on the Options Menu, whatever sort order you have selected.

You may browse all the names in the database using the small scroll bar on the right of the list of names. To open a species window for a given species, either click once to select the name and then click OK, or double click on the name. Selection by left click followed by right click brings up just the text information box about that species.

To exit without choosing a species either click on the cancel button or use the dismiss control (X) at top right.
