Food Web

This investigation illustrates food chains. The page contains a number of plants and animals. If you move the mouse cursor over the approximate centre of each you will see a rainbow circle. Click when the circle is visible to select that item.

Now you have to find and click on an animal that commonly feeds on your previous selection. There may be more than one. If you select correctly an arrow is drawn to show part of the food chain. If you get it wrong or that part of the chain is not in our list the first item is unselected and you have to select another. The number of arrows you have found and the number you still have to find is indicated at top left.

The page has the following buttons at top left:

Our arrows only indicate the main feeding habits. Sometimes some of these animals will eat other things on the page should the opportunity arise. Can you say where more arrows might be drawn?
