The Menu, Control Box and Icons
The Menu
The menu is shown at the top of the screen. Menu items are selected by left click on a word.
Click on any of the words here will drop down a box giving you further options. Left click on those to select.
These options are described in further detail here:.
Control Box
The program and most forms each have a control box at top right.
A control box consists of the three small buttons as shown here.
For the program:
- The leftmost (a dash) is used to minimise the program, i.e. remove it from the main part of the screen.
Restore by left click on the program button in the Windows tray at bottom of your desktop.
- The centre (square or two squares) is used to make the program fill the entire screen or be partly closed.
A partly closed program may be resized by drag on its outline.
- The right(cross) is used to close the program
For a window:
- The leftmost (a dash) is used to minimise the window, i.e. remove it from the main part of the program area.
Its control box will be shown at bottom left of the program area.
- The centre (square or two squares) is used to make the window fill the program area or be partly closed.
A part closed window may be resized by drag on its outline.
- The right(cross) is used to close the window.
Icon
The program and most forms each have an icon at top left. The icon shown varies with the form.
Click on the icon brings up a menu type drop down window which allows you to resize the program or window
as for the control box above.
There is also a Next item, which allows you to move between windows when more than one is open.
This may also be done from the Windows Menu.
