The following updates are currently available. First check your copy of Animals UK to see what updates you really need. Click on the underlined text to update.
Update 01 New Water Invertebrates: Darter Dragonfly and Whirligig beetle. For users of versions 1.x only. Check version in Menu help/Help about. Do not install this update on versions 2.0 and later.
Update 02. New format help file, mainly for Windows Vista users with pre-Vista program versions. You only really need this update if click on Help/Help Topics brings up a Microsoft error box, although non-Vista users may also prefer the neater format of this version. This update does not modify the program itself, only the file available from the Animals UK help shortcut on your Toolbar.
Update 03. Corrects an error in the "Making keys with more than one answer" interactive. You only need this update if you find that the answer boxes are overlapping on the page. If you use update 02 you do not need this one.
Update 04. Updates the interactives that allow printing to work with later versions of IE. You only need this update if the page setup or print buttons in the questions or keys interactives give a non fatal script error. This update uses Mead Corporation's latest ScriptX add in.
Update 05. Corrects match errors in three species. You only need this update if selecting cased wings in the Water Invertebrates database matches the Water Boatman and Backswimmer or if selecting uncased wings in the Land Invertebrates database matches the Weevil.
Update 06. Prevents non fatal script errors after upgrade to Internet Explorer 8. You need this update if clicking on help or information buttons brings up an error box.
Ensure Animals UK is not running. You will need to be logged in as administrator on Win2000, XP or Vista.
Click on the above text. In the File Download dialog select Open to install the upgrade. If you get a Windows security warning box asking if you wish to install the file click Yes. (Alternatively you can choose save to disk and install later by click on the file.)
After download is complete the self extracting file will open. The update setup works in the same way as Animals UK install but no serial numbers or user details are required. Click next on the first page.
If Animals UK was installed in the default directory of C:\Program Files\Animals UK, just click next when asked, otherwise use the browse button to locate the correct directory first. Click next.
Click install on the last page. The updates will now be available in Animals UK in the same way as existing content.
Note: Unless stated, updates do not modify system files or settings. There is no need to shut down other applications.
